Head of PE & Sport and Director of Sport Academy, Cheadle & Marple Sixth Form College
BEd(Hons), OCR Assessor, PGDE Mentor
Sport, and in particular Lacrosse, has always been a passion of mine. I was fortunate enough to represent England in the 1990 World Games and went on to help establish and develop Scotland lacrosse by representing them at the 1994, 1998 and 2002 World Games, where I was also the captain of the squad.
Professionally, I majored in Physical Education (PE) at St. Paul’s and St. Mary’s college, Cheltenham, graduating with Honours in 1994. Since then I taught PE in a Manchester High school for 9 years before transferring my ambitions to further education level at Cheadle & Marple Sixth Form College. It was here where I was promoted to Head of PE & Sport and Director of our Sport Academy. This gave me an opportunity to launch the UK’s only Lacrosse Academy based around educational themes. As part of the our unique and exclusive program we have an overseas scholarship program which sees UK students transfer to US High schools in search of College places and scholarships. Through our US co-ordinator Skip Flanagan we have been able to set up partnerships with Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) and Avon Old Farms (Connecticut). We currently have four of our Alumni studying and playing in America and through LACROSSETHEPOND I look forward to mentoring and facilitating US Graduates in the UK. I have over 10 years of experience mentoring senior students helping and guiding them through their final aspects of their courses and program as well as helping them to manage their commitments and workloads so I am relishing the opportunity to support and maximize your child’s UK University program. Rest assured it will be a successful and enjoyable experience!
